Continue Reading...Donations that are meant for flood victims in Tsholotsho are mishandled by the local Civil Protection Unit Committees who oversee the welfare of hundreds of people holed in tents.
TSHOLOTSHO — Some flood victims that are still housed in tents are not receiving supplies such as food on time because the local Civil Protection Unit (CPU) committees delay dispatching the donated goods.
In some instances they distribute them at night – and divert some items meant for the victims for their own personal use.
For instance, in Tsholotsho North Ward 5 and 6 under Chief Mathuphula area, [flood] victims are angry after their donations from [resident] minister Cain Mathema, Men of Hope Restoration amongst others have not yet been sent to them.
It is not yet clear why local CPU committees distribute donations at night — and also delay dispatching the goods.
